Who cares?
I do. I know loads of you do too. It’s huge and I can’t stop thinking about it. There is plastic EVERYWHERE I look. How can we stop it? I am not sure yet really but I will find out and tell you about it.
I thought my first blog post would be light hearted and quirky. Turns out that it’s not. The amount of plastic in my house actually makes me feel sick so there isn’t much to be light hearted and quirky about. I am going to change. I am going to BE the change and I am inviting you to come on my journey.
I am going to become plastic bag free and reduce the use of any other plastic packaging in my house. Sounds easy, maybe not. Might find out a few things about myself in the process.

Start in small ways. I don’t use plastic bags from the supermarket anymore.

I feel you, I notice it all the time too, if it’s going to be plastic it at least needs to be reusable, all our drink bottles are Tupperware now, I used to buy pump plastic ones from the supermarket every fortnight, arghhh. I know it’s still plastic but hopefully many years in my fridge instead of a week.
Love that we can recycle soft plastic at supermarket now but I’m dubious about how much of our recycling actually gets recycled. Baby steps is better than none but I’ll be following you with interest now Ani. Good luck!
Awesome stuff! Just in the last few days I’ve thought about it and have finally gotten why plastic bags are not good! Thanks for talking about this and doing this, it’s a great thing. I am going to try do this too. Fits in with my new line of work 😊

Have you tried reusable nappies? I’m a real fan if you ever want to go down that path and need some help on just where to start.
